Whiskit is designed to help users save recipes, manage pantry items, and access optional premium features. We believe trust is part of the product. That means being clear about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.
1. Who We Are
Whiskit is operated by Frost & Fable Studios, Inc. In this Privacy Policy, "Whiskit," "we," "our," and "us" refer to the Whiskit service and Frost & Fable Studios, Inc. as its operator.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect information such as your email address, first name, last name, and account identifiers associated with authentication.
User Content
We collect and store the content you choose to create or upload in Whiskit, including recipes, pantry entries, ingredient selections, dietary preferences, food images, profile images, nutritional values you enter alongside recipes, and other information you submit through the service. Nutritional values are user-submitted estimates and are stored as entered — we do not verify, calculate, or validate them.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Whiskit Premium, billing and payment processing are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive subscription status, renewal state, and transaction-related metadata needed to determine access to premium features.
Technical and Usage Information
We may collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, crash data, and basic usage signals needed to operate, secure, improve, and moderate the service.
Push Notification Tokens
If you grant permission for push notifications, we may collect and store a device push token provided by Apple. This token is used solely to send you notifications related to the Whiskit service, such as updates or reminders you have opted into. You can revoke notification permission at any time through your device settings.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and manage user accounts
- To save, sync, and display recipes and pantry data
- To provide optional premium subscription features
- To maintain app performance, reliability, and security
- To respond to support requests and feedback
- To investigate misuse, abuse, or violations of our terms

4. Legal Bases and Consent
By using Whiskit, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. Where required, we rely on your consent, the necessity of processing to provide the service you requested, and our legitimate interest in operating, securing, moderating, and improving Whiskit.
5. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate Whiskit. These may include:
- Firebase for authentication, database, and cloud storage
- RevenueCat for subscription status and entitlement management
- Apple for App Store billing, subscription processing, and purchase restoration
- Resend for transactional email delivery related to support and account communications
- Expo for push notification delivery infrastructure
These providers may process information on our behalf only as necessary to deliver the service.
6. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect user information. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we take security seriously and design Whiskit to limit unnecessary exposure of user data.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain operational records. If you delete your account, we will take reasonable steps to remove or anonymize associated data, except where retention is required for legal, security, operational, moderation, or fraud-prevention reasons.
8. Account Deletion and User Rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated data through available in-app tools or by contacting us. Subject to applicable law, you may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal data we hold about you.
9. Children's Privacy
Whiskit is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
10. International Use
If you access Whiskit from outside the country in which our service infrastructure is hosted, your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions. By using Whiskit, you understand and consent to that transfer where permitted by law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational needs. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Whiskit after any changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
